Amaravati: The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has finalised plans to construct star hotels, convention centres and tourism parks in Amaravati capital city. The CRDA has also called tenders for the project costing Rs 1,000 crore.

According to officials, the last date for filing of tenders is September 25 and the remaining tender process would be completed in next two months. The CRDA has initiated the project as prestigious and model to other future projects. As many as 40 acres of land has been earmarked at Venkatapalem in Amaravati capital location for the same.

A senior official on condition of anonymity says the project will provide direct employment for 250 and indirect employment for 1,000 members.

The CRDA has already initiated the work on two five-star hotels and two three-star hotels and two convention centers. “Basic infrastructure companies will come to start their commercial establishments only after these basic amenities,” the official said. So far, the education and health sector institutions have started their operations in the capital location.

As no organisation started commercial establishments and hotels in the capital location, the CRDA has taken up the project in a bid to create confidence among other investors.
