Journalists condemn killing of Gauri Lankesh

The journalists and left parties took out a rally and formed a human chain in Achanta village in West Godavari on Thursday, in protest against killing of Kannada Senior Journalist and activist GouriLankesh in Bengaluru. The journalists including print and electronic media, activists of CPM, DYFI and CITU took out a rally in Achanta and reached the village main centre.

Eluru: The journalists and left parties took out a rally and formed a human chain in Achanta village in West Godavari on Thursday, in protest against killing of Kannada Senior Journalist and activist GouriLankesh in Bengaluru. The journalists including print and electronic media, activists of CPM, DYFI and CITU took out a rally in Achanta and reached the village main centre.

They condemned the killing of woman journalist and raised slogans demanding the government take stringent action against miscreants who are responsible for the killing. Later they formed a human chain in the centre disrupting the traffic.

Later, they staged a rally to Mandal Tahsildar office and submitted a memorandum to the Tahsildar demanding the government to punish the miscreants who killed GouriLankesh. They also demanded the Centre and Karnataka governments to conduct a CBI inquiry into the incident. They also demanded the government to provide protection to the journalists.
