Air Chief Marshal Birendra Singh Dhanoa visited Andhra University campus and interacted with Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao, Registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao, principal Prof PS Avadhani and other experts on Friday.

Birendra Singh Dhanoa said that the Indian Air Force propounds the philosophy of ‘People First, Mission Always’. He said that the Andhra University has bridged the gap between service training and educational qualification by awarding academic recognition to the training conducted by Indian Air Force at its training establishments.

He further stated that the AU-Defence Education Programme has been initiated on a strong foundation and collaborative research between the university and Indian Air Force will mutually benefit both organisations.

He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the university community for extending their cooperation and academic excellence to the defence personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Nageswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, requested the Indian Air Force to establish a Defence Research Centre, Defence Chair and also an Air Force NCC wing in Andhra University. He said so far Andhra University entered into six MoUs with Indian Air Force.

Andhra University Registrar V Umamaheswara Rao, Prof PS Avadhani, Prof MS Prasada Babu, Ujjwal Kumar Ghatak, Commander Anup Kumar, Wing Commander Amit and others were present.
