Centre keen to resolve Kolleru issue: Maganti

Eluru: MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) said that the Centre is ready to solve the Kolleru issue. He said an IAS officers committee will meet at Amaravati on September 11 to discuss the problems of Kolleru and other related issues.Hundreds of people from Sriparru village, a Kolleru belt village met the MP at his Camp office on Saturday.

They submitted a memorandum to the MP stating that they are facing problems with the contour levels GO and did not get the pattas to Zirayiti lands. They also told the problems they are facing in the villages due to lack of amenities and other issues.

Responding to their problems, Maganti Babu said that he took the issue to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu several times.

“I requested the Chief Minister to establish 136 fishermen cooperative societies in the five constituencies of Kollereu lake area. Besides, I requested the Chief Minister to sanction pattas to the Zirayiti lands in Kolleru”, he stated.

He said that the Chief Minister has directed the officials to prepare a plan to develop 50,000 acres in Kolleru area. Due to mistakes did during the Congress regime, a case was pending in the court relating to the minimization of contour levels.

The IAS officers meeting will deal with the problems of Kolleru people and steps to be taken for their development besides the development of Kollerulake. He assured them that he will raise the Sriparru issue in the meeting.

Sriparruvillage TDP president Saidu Govardhan, village elders Ghantasala Sahadeva Raju, Bhale Madhu, Bhale Ramana, SaiduRamaraju, Telugu Yuvatadistrict president Maganti Ramji participated.
