Nellore: Minister for Cooperation C Adinarayana Reddy advised cooperative banks to provide loans liberaly to the weavers in the state thorough the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS). He participated in the centenary celebrations of the District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) here on Friday. Addressing the participants, the Minister said financial support would be extended to weavers under Prime Minister Mudra Yojana (PMMY).

Reddy asked cooperative banks to support the depressed communities of the society for their uplift and also suggested to increase number of ATMs being run by the cooperative banks. Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said the state bagged second place across the country in utilisation of sprinklers. He stated the government had provided Rs 1,680 crore to the farmers as input subsidy for seven districts.
The Minister said the state stands top in the country in loan waiver and farmers would be provided tractors under Rythu Ratham programme. Municipal Minister P Narayana said Somasila, Kandaleru, Sangam and Nellore irrigation projects are key for agriculture progress in the district and said they were trying to store more water in Somasila and Kandaleru reservoirs. Speakers praised efforts of DCCB Chairman M Dhananjaya Reddy for improving performance of the bank.
