Tirupati: SVIMS Director-cum-Vice-Chancellor Dr TS Ravi Kumar advised that the students of physiotherapy should bring awareness among the public about the importance of physiotherapy. On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day on Friday, the Physiotherapy department of SVIMS has organised a programme. Speaking on the occasion, the V-C said an individual can maintain energy levels throughout his life by developing commitment and passion towards his work.

He appreciated physiotherapy students for extending voluntary services in out-patient department of the SVIMS as a part of hospitality group of SVIMS quality council.

TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav, who was chief guest, has vowed to establish e-toilets in SIVMS premises for keeping campus clean and green and also assured of providing essential facilities to the public visiting the hospital. Further, he agreed to erect hoardings in public parks and visible places in the city reflecting the importance of physiotherapy and to increase awareness.

Registrar Dr TC Kalawat, Medical Superintendent Dr Alok Sachan and Principal of Physiotherapy College Dr K Madhavi also spoke. On the occasion, sports events and 2K run were organised for school children and college students. The physiotherapy students demonstrated aerobic dances, conveying the message that the physical movements are essential to maintain good health.
