The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Bhanwar Lal has categorically stated that there is no chance for the delimitation of Assembly constituencies either in Telangana or in Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Election Officer along with family members visited the hill shrine of Lord Sri Venkateswara in Dwaraka Tirumala on Friday morning. He offered prayers at the temple along with his family members. The temple priests and Executive officer Vendra Trinadha Rao welcomed him with temple customs.
The CEO has performed pooja to Lord Sri Venkateswara in the temple and visited Goshala and performed pooja to the cows.
Later, addressing the media at the temple, he said that as there is no immediate by-election to any constituency in the two States, the Election Commission has decided to take up the revision of the electoral rolls from November 1 this year.
Every youth who completed the age of 18 years by January 1 in 2018 could enroll his name in the electoral process. He said that before starting the revision, the District Collectors should convene all political parties meeting in all the districts. After the meeting the revision process would be taken up, he added.
He said that the Election Commission had clearly stated about the delimitation of the Assembly constituencies in both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, no delimitation could be conducted in the near future
He said that no fund paucity for the revision of electoral rolls as the Centre sanction 50 per cent of the funds and the other part will be borne by the State. The Election Commission has approved the revision process as there are no immediate by-polls anywhere in the country.
