The Andhra Pradesh government has reacted seriously to the attacks on Telugu students by Kannada organizations when they are in the neighbouring state to write RRB and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) exams.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has reacted seriously to the attacks on Telugu students by Kannada organizations when they are in the neighbouring state to write RRB and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) exams.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the higher officials to make steps to provide security for the Telugu students by discussing with their counterparts in Karnataka. Naidu has also directed Union minister Y Sujana Chowdary to bring the incident to the Centre’s notice immediately.

The CM discussed the issue with ministers those informed to the CM in party coordination committee meeting which held here on Saturday. He said that if there is any necessity he would speak with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The ministers too expressed concern over the incident while Home Minister N China Rajappa has instructed the Police department to contact with the Karnataka police. State special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra had requested his Karnataka counterpart on the issue.

According to information, many Telugu students went to Bengaluru and Hubli to write the tests from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. But the students were faced unprecedented opposition from Karnataka local organizations at the Bengaluru railway station. Former student union leader Navaneetam Sambasiva Rao said the Kannada organizations had made an attempt to tear the hall tickets of Telugu students.

Home minister China Rajappa said the government will take all the necessary actions to protect the Telugu students. SFI state president Y Ramu said they were in contact with other student unions in Karnataka to avoid further untoward incidents. The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has also condemned the attack. APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy talked to Karnataka Home Minister and asked him to provide security to the Telugu students.
