Pithapuram: The 12th Additional District Judge G Lakshminarasimha Reddy called upon the litigants to make use of the Lok Adalat facility and the decisions arrived at the Lok Adalat are beyond the purview of appeal.

Addressing participants of a legal awareness camp held here on Saturday as one of the chief guests, the judge opined that the Lok Adalat renders equitable justice to all besides delivering the quick justice. Even cases pertaining to various government departments are being resolved at the Lok Adalat.

Furthermore, criminal cases lodged against each other in a fit of rage and the cases in which the litigants wish to come to a negotiating table are being resolved during the Lok Adalat sessions. The sessions help resolve the long-standing cases.

At the Lok Adalat session held here, 322 cases of out of the 419 that have been brought to the bench have been resolved.
The bench disposed of nine out of 21 motor vehicle accident cases (worth Rs 27.05 lakh), 15 out of 34 civil cases (worth Rs 23.21 lakh), 31 out of 45 criminal cases and 261 excise-related cases.

Besides, six pre-litigation cases involving banks and insurance firms have also been resolved. Sub-Judge D Ammanna Raja and Magistrate K Haribabu, advocates BEK Eswara Babu, Dasari Ramesh Babu and Saka Nageswara Rao presented the cases before the bench.
