Vijayawada: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Saturday suggested the Vijayawada Government General Hospital authorities to provide infrastructure facilities and other amenities with the Hospital Development Society funds and ensure medical and health services to the visiting poor patients.

Addressing the Hospital Development Society (HDS) meeting conducted at the hospital, the Minister said New GGH is very important because it located in the capital and 1,500 to 2,000 out patients visit the hospital daily. He informed that every day 1.50 lakh patients attend the government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh and assured the hospital authorities that all kinds of assistance will be given for its development.

Collector B Lakshmikantham instructed the officials to immediately check the leakages in the New and Old Government General Hospitals. He also instructed to keep ready the liquid oxygen cylinder in 10 days and asked the staff to arrange parking facility for vehicles in a systematic manner.

He informed that the VMC has arranged two dumper bins to lift the garbage in the New GGH and police outpost will be arranged in the Old GGH like that of outpost arranged in New GGH.

He asked the officials to call tenders for purchasing CC cameras required to be installed in hospital, ward robes, computers and other equipment and instructed the staff to collect blood from Indian Red Cross for dengue patients. He inspected the medical store room and enquired about the condition of fans, lighting and other facilities in the hospital wards.
