Perhaps Sound of Sands being planned by the APTDC will be a great surprise and thrilling for the music lovers of this country. Presumed to be the third biggest event after Woodstock and Concert for Bangladesh, Sound of Sands as it is christened, will be biggest and first of its kind in India.

In a serious effort to draw the attention, the AP Tourism Development Corporation sounded the big names Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, an Indian musical trio consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, Raghu Dixit, Thai Kudum and Parikrama.
Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy composed music for over 50 soundtracks across five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and English. Among the most critically acclaimed Indian musicians, The trio have won numerous awards, including National Film Award (India), Filmfare Award and IIFA Award.
The next big name is Raghupathi Dwarakanath Dixit, or popularly known as Raghu Dixit in the music world. A well-known singer, song writer and composer, Raghu heads the Raghu Dixit Project, a multilingual folk music band.
Raghu’s music is an amalgamation of Indian ethnic music and styles from different parts of the world. His popular numbers are "Mysore se aayi," "Mumbai," "Antaragni," "Hey Bhagwan," "Har Saans Mein," "Gudugudiya," and "Khidki."
``The Vizag concert Sound of Sands will begin with Raghu singing keertans from 6 am on October 14 for the music lovers who make it early hours of the day and stroll on the beaches,’’ said Kaushik Mukherjee, advisor to the AP government on tourism.
He told this correspondent that had the government given him some more time, he would have roped in best of the rock bands of the world. ``This would be one cause for the tourist to visit Vizag as well,’’ he added.
The other bands include Parikrama from New Delhi and Thai Kudum form Kerala. Thai Kudum has musicians drawn from several states of the country and the artists range from seven year old to seventy years. The band plays folk, classic rock, Blues and Jaaz.
