Vempalle: Vempalle mandal praja parishad president Ravikumar Reddy on Sunday flagged off a peace rally in the town with the participation of high school and junior college students.

The rally was organised under the leadership of K Ramachandra Reddy, founder of civil society organisation Manavata.
The rally proceeded from Sri Chaitanya high school in the town and culminated in a human chain at Adda Road here after proceeding via police station and the bus station. YSRCP Kadapa district unit of Manavata president Sambasiva Reddy noted that the objective of the Manavata is to build society on the foundation of peace.

District unit of Manavata secretary Chakrapani Reddy called upon students to give up jealousy, violence and bad blood. He asked them to inculcate the service attitude.

The rally proceeded from Sri Chaitanya high school and culminated at Adda Road after proceeding via bus station

Also participated in the rally were Ramana Reddy, correspondent of Usha Kiran Schools, Rajasekhar, Manavata mandal level secretary Ranga Reddy, Manavata finance secretary Srikant Reddy representing Devi College, Bharati representing Akshara College, Teja of Vivekananda School and Konappa of IIIT.

A physically challenged person from Pulivendula, Janardhan Reddy was felicitated by members of Manavata on the occasion.
