Suicide Prevention Day observed
The District Youth Services conducted an awareness programme ‘Take a Minute-Change the Life’ to mark the World Suicide Prevention Day at AP Social Welfare Residential Junior College on Sunday.
Visakhapatnam: The District Youth Services conducted an awareness programme ‘Take a Minute-Change the Life’ to mark the World Suicide Prevention Day at AP Social Welfare Residential Junior College on Sunday.
While addressing the students, Chief Executive Officer of District Youth Services Dr. A Siri said that the some of the youngsters, were resorting to the extreme step of committing suicide without bothering about their families.
She said that at an average, one person committing suicide every 40 seconds in the world. In order to create more confidence in their life, the World Suicide Prevention Day has been organising every year, Siri informed.
She called upon the students to lead their lives by utilising the most advanced technologies which were emerging and scale more heights. On the occasion, Siri released a poster drafted by the noted cartoonist.
