Two undertrial prisoners escaped from a sub jail in Tadepalligudem town in West Godavari district on Sunday afternoon. After the haircut, the prisoners go into the bathrooms. Out of them, two prisoners Sirrapu Ganesh of Gudivada in Krishna District, Bugata Siva of Tadipatri in Anantapur District escaped from the hair cutting area as they saw the door was open. Climbing the overhead tank in the bathroom area, they jumped out from the 18-feet main compound wall. At the time of their escape, there was no power supply. This also went their favour.

Coming to know of the escape of these two under-trials, Tadepalligudem town CI MRLS Murthy, SI Anjaneyulu and his personnel reached the jail and searched all the blocks, the escape area.

The Incharge Jailer VV Gopala Krishna told the media that only five personnel are on duty when the escape took place. He said that the personnel released the prisoners at 1.00 PM and sent them back at 2.00 PM.

When counting the prisoners, it came to the notice that two had escaped. Immediately the information was sent to the higher officials, he added.

Out of the two under-trials, Ganesh an old criminal was arrested by Tadepalligudem police in various theft cases. The other Siva also an old offender was arrested by Tadepalligudem police in the theft and burglaries cases. Besides Ganesh, the police also arrested his mother and sent them to remand.

Ganesh, an old criminal earlier had also escaped two times earlier from the clutches of jail personnel. Following this, whenever, the police take him out of the jail, five escort personnel follow him to the court, police said.

The officials said that grass had abnormally grown in the hair cutting location and the jail personnel had asked the two under trial prisoners Siva and Ganesh to mow the grass. At that time, there was no power. The hair cutting area had a door and it was kept open. Two teams have been deployed to nab these two criminals, according to police.
