Visakhapatnam: Terminal manager Mohammed Golam Sarwarul Islam and representatives of Chittagong Port Authority, Bangladesh, visited Visakhapatnam Port Trust here on Monday.

Chairman of VPT M T Krishna Babu explained the team about the facilities and infrastructure of Port of Visakhapatnam by way of making a power point presentation and invited the Chittagong Port Authority team of Bangladesh government to make use of the facilities available and to trade with India through Port of Visakhapatnam.

The chairman informed that the port is having enough capacity and can handle cargo without the vessel waiting for a berth. The container terminal is having most modern facilities and is the deepest with 15.5 metres draft.

The Bangladesh trade would benefit by making use of Visakhapatnam Port and would provide support for meeting their logistics etc., The Chairman informed them that VPT will send a team to Bangladesh to study the feasibility to improve the trade between the two countries.

Mohammed Islam said he was satisfied with the information furnished by Visakhapatnam Port and stated that the port would be a convenient port for movement of their cargo and requested the management and the team to extend full support in the days ahead.
