Defence Secretary visits Eastern Naval Command

Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra arrived here on Monday on a two-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC). This is his maiden visit to ENC after taking over as defence secretary on May 25. On arrival, he was received at INS Dega by vice-admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command.
Visakhapatnam: Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra arrived here on Monday on a two-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC). This is his maiden visit to ENC after taking over as defence secretary on May 25. On arrival, he was received at INS Dega by vice-admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command.
The Defence secretary interacted with vice admiral HCS Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command and was briefed on the activities of the command. Mitra is scheduled to visit various naval facilities in Visakhapatnam including INS Kalinga, Dega, Satavahana, Materials Organisation, Naval Dockyard and indigenously built stealth frigate INS Shivalik prior to his departure to New Delhi on Tuesday.
