Women’s organisations and NGOs are to take out a huge rally and conduct a public meeting in Vijayawada on September 15 protesting against the liquor policy of the state government. Representatives of women’s organisations released a poster in this regard on Monday at the CPI State office.
Vijayawada: Women’s organisations and NGOs are to take out a huge rally and conduct a public meeting in Vijayawada on September 15 protesting against the liquor policy of the state government. Representatives of women’s organisations released a poster in this regard on Monday at the CPI State office.
National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) State General Secretary P Durga Bhavani, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress President Sunkara Padmasri, AIDWA state leader K Swarupa Rani, R Nagamani, K Sridevi, and others participated in the poster release.
Addressing the media the leaders said the state government is using liquor as source of income and not imposing ban though lakhs of families are affected due to liquor sales. They said rally will be taken out from Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to Dharna chowk on September 15 and public meeting will be held at the venue.
They state leaders and representatives of United Forum against the liquor will take part in the procession and dharna.
