Rajamahendravaram: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham gave an ultimatum to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to announce reservations for Kapu community before December 12. He shot off a letter to the Chief Minister on Tuesday.
“What is the problem to implement the demands of Kapu community, which was assured before 2014 Assembly elections? How many years does it take for the demands to materialise,” he questioned Mudragada said in no uncertain terms that there was no one behind the scenes.
“No one is running me and there is no compromise on reservations issue. The fight continues till the government fulfils its promise,” he asserted. Regarding padayatra, the Kapu leader said that he dropped the movement on the request of police officers on August 27 but said that he would start it soon.
“In the guise of the apex court's directions, policemen obstructed my padayatra from July 7 to August 30. Kapu community will not tolerate the intentional delay relating to reservations,” he warned.
