Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to chalk out a strategy to achieve target that every household income must be above Rs 1,20,000 per annum by March 2019. Addressing the first governing council meeting of MEPMA (Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas) at the Secretariat on Tuesday,

the Chief Minister said that during the last 3 years, Rs 6,045.01 crore was mobilised through bank linkage scheme, Rs 239.81 crore through Vaddi Leni Runalu (Low interest loans) and 1,12,053 people have been trained through Skill Training and Placements (EST&P) scheme. 77.17% of them were provided placement.

After reviewing the reports of MEMPA, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to prepare a document on ‘Vision 2022.’In order to achieve the vision “Kutumba Vikasam, Samaja Vikasam”, director of MEPMA P Chinnathataiah explained the meeting about four aspects of eliminating poverty - income generation activities, health & nutrition, education and social security.

Around 20 lakh people are members of almost 2 lakh self-help groups (SHGs) in urban areas, Chinnathataiah said. Ministers P Narayana, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Director of Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Archana Mittal and Secretary MA & UD R Karikal Valaven participated.
