In scorching heat after visiting all the new buildings, Lokesh entered the centre that made him feel the difference. Speaking to Collector Pravin Kumar and DRDA Project Director Satya Sai Srinivas, he said, “I am feeling better here than the air- conditioned rooms. I really loved this centre.” Knowing that the centre was built at a cost of Rs 3 lakh, he appreciated the officials.

So far out of the promised assistance of Rs 10,000 to each DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) self-help group, Rs 6,000 has been credited and the due amount will be paid with interest soon, said IT and Panchayati Raj Minister Nara Lokesh.

Nara Lokesh inaugurated the Shopping Complex and District Mahila Samakhya Buildings, which were constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore funds of DWCRA groups, at Pendurthi in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

After inauguration, addressing the gathering, he praised the four lakh women for putting efforts to raise the funds for the construction of buildings.

"DWCRA groups in other districts of the state should draw inspiration from Pendurthi women. In all the mandals, they should come up with similar kind of initiative in next 12 months," he said.

Speaking on the occasion, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said banks were willing to give loans to the DWCRA groups because of their effective financial management and other good practices. Later, Lokesh handed over Rs 5 lakh cheques of Chandranna Bhima to the two victim families.

Pendurthi constituency MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana, District Collector Pravin Kumar and DRDA Project Director Satya Sai Srinivas and others attended.
