Visakhapatnam: A two-day conference on Indian Navy’s midyear refit review and midyear infrastructure review ended on Tuesday. The conference was inaugurated at the headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, here on Monday. The two-day conference was chaired by Vice-Admiral GS Pabby, Chief of Materiel, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy).

The midyear refit review reviews the progress of refit of ships, submarines and Mid-Year Infrastructure Review reviews the progress of various infrastructure projects. The conference was attended by all the stake-holders representing the Naval Headquarters, three Naval Commands, the Tri-Services Command at Port Blair, dockyards, repair yards and material organisations of the navy.

Delivering the keynote address during the inaugural session, Vice- Admiral GS Pabby complimented contribution of all stakeholders in refitting the ships and submarines. The conference also deliberated on some of the existing maintenance polices, refit schedules of ships and drew out a plan for infrastructure to support latest acquisitions of Indian Navy.

Speaking at the concluding session of Mid-Year Infrastructure Review, the Vice- Admiral emphasised the continual improvements in synergising the refitting and logistics functions for timely completion of refits and ensure availability of combat worthy platforms.

Mid-year Infrastructure Review meeting was held on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects of Indian Navy.
