Andhra Pradesh government's proposal to denotify forest lands for the development of the capital city has been approved by the Central government.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had sought permission for land diversion in 13,267 hectares of forest land in Krishna and Guntur districts following which a proposal was sent to the Centre.

According to AP Reorganisation Act, the degraded forest land can be denotified and the state government has secured permission for diversion of 2087.09 hectares of forest land close to two villages in Tadepalli and Venkatayyapalem for the development of capital.
