Ongole: Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu was showing a step-motherly treatment towards Prakasam district, said V Srinivas Rao, national executive committee member of CPM.

Participating in the district committee meeting at Sundarayya Bhavan here on Thursday, along with party district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu, he said that the Central and State governments were diverting the attention of the people playing politics of caste and religion to cover up their the administrative failures like demonetisation.

In his speech, Srinivasa Rao said that Prakasam district was suffering from water scarcity and the people of Ongole were getting water once in 10 days and even the pipelines were not laid.

The local ruling party leaders and Ministers failed miserably to mitigate the sufferings of people, he lamented. He lashed out at the Chief Minister for going back on his promises during the 2014 elections like setting up Donakonda corridor, educational institutions and port in the Prakasm district.

Srinivas Rao said that the demonitisation move was a failure which hit the economy hard. During the last three years, 10 lakh people lost their jobs.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the IT companies were removing their employees without giving them a prior notice, he lamented. Punati Anjaneyulu demanded the government to include fever also in the NTR Vaidyaseva.
