CPM suspects TDP MLAs role in housing scheme
Members of Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest at theVijayawada Municipal Corporation office here on Thursday alleging the role of TDP MLAs in the allotment of houses under the schemes of State and Central governments. The CPM leaders said the allotment of houses are being done with the active connivance of ruling party MLAs violating established guidelines in the schemes.
Vijayawada: Members of Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest at theVijayawada Municipal Corporation office here on Thursday alleging the role of TDP MLAs in the allotment of houses under the schemes of State and Central governments. The CPM leaders said the allotment of houses are being done with the active connivance of ruling party MLAs violating established guidelines in the schemes.
The houses are being allotted to their followers only, they lamented. They said that the MLAs were making cash by selling houses to others which are supposed to be allotted to poorer sections. The officials have also been following the orders of TDP MLAs, they wondered.
They pointed out that how the houses are being allotted to new applicants even 1.47 lakh applications have been pending with the government from the last nine years under JNNURM scheme. CPM senior leader Ch Babu Rao, Kasinath and D Vishnuvardhan were present.
