Simhachalam Devasthanam celebrated Krishnasthami on Thursday two months after the entire country celebrated last month. As per the Vaishnav traditions, generally followed in the temple, the festival was celebrated. The temple follows Pancharatna Agamam and that happened to be Suryamanam and Asthama Thithi and Simhamasa Sitha Paksha under constellation of Rohini star.

Devotees belonging to Yadava community in large numbers visited the temple and organised the event ‘Utla Sambaram’. A young boy, who was dressed as Lord Krishna, was taken around the temple. Priests decorated Lord Nrusimha Swamy as Lord Krishna to mark the occasion and offered special pujas.
