Addressing a press conference at Secretariat on Thursday, CM wanted cine director Rajamouli to give suggestions on the designs of structures in Amaravati. He said the designs exhibited by the Norman Fosters should be further improved to make them world class structures. He said the three iconic structures would be constructed including Assembly, High Court and cultural complex. He said the committee comprising of GMR, CVK, Nuzvid Seeds and Sri City groups would discuss on the issue before taking a final decision.

Welcoming the award of tribunal on Vamsadhara river dispute, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the long pending dispute between Andhra and Orissa states was solved and now the line was cleared to supply water to both Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. The chief minister said with the positive award of the tribunal it was decided to share 50-50 per cent of water between these two states. He said that the decision of the tribunal would help for linking of rivers – Vamsadhara and Nagavali.

He said the Hiramandalam project would be completed to store 19 tmc of water. It would help to supply water up to Itchapuram.

Stating that the state government has been giving top priority for irrigation, the chief minister said that so far 66 tmc of Godavari water was diverted to save crop in Krishna delta.

He said with the initiative taken by the state government the state achieved 27.2 per cent growth rate in agricultural sector in first quarter.

Later the chief minister released a book Recipes of Andhra Pradesh published by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development corporation. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister stressed the need for promoting tourism as there was no dearth of historical and beautiful places with more number of water bodies and long sea coast in the state.

He said the number of hotels also should be increased. The AP tourism Development Corporation organised a food festival with healthy and nutritious contents on the occasion.
