Auto driver kills girlfriend of two years in Prakasam

An auto driver was arrested on Saturday for killing his girlfriend at Vetapalem in Prakasam district.

The deceased was identified as Shavanam Teja, who completed her MTech and worked in TVS showroom in Chirala.

The police informed that the victim was in love with an auto driver Gopichand, who hails from Rama Nagar at Vetapalem. The couple had been together since two years.

Gopichand broke into his uncle's house along with Teja and slit Teja's throat, later he ran away from the place.

He informed the entire incident to his friends who alerted the police. Based on the information, the police took Gopichand took him into custody.
