Visakhapatnam: Congress leader and activist Bolisetty Satyanarayana urged National Green Tribunal (NGT) Chairperson Justice Swatentra Kumarto pronounce judgement on cases filed on Amaravati Township Project which has been pending for more than three months.

After attending the first day sessions of a two-day National Green Tribunal - Regional Conference on Environment-2017 in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, the Congress leader spoke to the media.

“We are very confident that Justice Swatentra Kumar, who did not allow Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Art of Living) to damage the floodplains of Yamuma River and run away, he will not certainly allow Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to damage the floodplains of Krishna River and run away,” he said.

He recalled Justice Swatentra Kumar’s comment on the pending case "the arguments are over and the judgement is reserved".

"If Justice is delayed in the case of an individual, his/her will be affected. Whereas if the justice is delayed in the case of environmental issues that will have an irreversible and severe impact on several millions of people and other living creatures,” Satyanarayana noted.

Even Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said, "I will be killed before I reach Delhi if I go against the sand mafia" in response to a query by the media recently in Vijayawada, he pointed out.

“So, it is high time for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to act not only by giving orders to book sand mafia gang under TADA Act, but also to revise the land prices in their own revenue records on par with the rates suggested by his own group of ministers,” he requested.
