A 13-year-old boy Govind of Tilaknagar suffered 70 per cent burns as he got electrocuted on Sunday. He was rushed to local government hospital. Residents of the colony were agitated alleging negligence of power staff. It is learnt that the boy felldown after getting shock and touched the service wires upon reaching the roof.

Residents of the colony were agitated alleging negligence of power staff. It is learnt that the boy felldown after getting shock and touched the service wires upon reaching the roof.

The tragic incident happened as children in the colony were playing because of the holiday. While playing Govind scaled the roof and accidentally touched the service wires which got earthed. The wires were allegedly left negligently within reach if a person raises his hands.

The boy cried in agony and fell to the ground. Soon the transformer was burnt, resulting in disruption of power supply. His father Maddileti and some colony residents rushed the boy to the hospital.

The residents alleged that the Transco staff had tied service wire to trees at many places while giving power connections to houses. They claimed that TV sets in many houses got burnt following short-circuit.
