Kakinada: Communist Party of India (Marxist) appealed to the Government General Hospital Superintendent Dr M Raghavendra Rao to eliminate mice menace in the hospital on Monday.

CPM town secretary Veerababu submitted a memorandum to GGH Superintendent in this regard while visiting a surgical block with former MP Midiyam Baburao.

Veerababu also informed the superintendent that they have noticed mice freely roaming in many wards in GGH. He reminded the superintendent it is necessary to take appropriate action before something happens like in Guntur GGH.

The superintendent assured that a meeting will be held at Vijayawada on September 27 on sanitation to discuss the problem.
Dr Raghavendra Rao told that sanitation, security, pests, mice and vermin elimination would be finalised in the meeting and the works would be taken in three phases.

Veerababu suggested that it is better to catch the mice for the time being in GGH. M Rajagopal, S Bhavani and K Durga Prasad and Y Srinivas were present.
