Foreign woman dupes city doctor
A ‘foreign woman’ who was in touch with a city doctor, Krishnamurthy, for about three months on Facebook duped him of Rs 88,000.
Vijayawada: A ‘foreign woman’ who was in touch with a city doctor, Krishnamurthy, for about three months on Facebook duped him of Rs 88,000.
According to police, the doctor of Ayyappanagar here fell into her trap and was beguiled into transferring Rs 88,000. Foreign woman told the doctor that she had come to India and stranded at Delhi airport as she brought British currency.
When she asked him to deposit money, the doctor without any hesitation transferred money to her account in two instalments. After he had deposited the money for the last time on Friday, her phone and other phone stopped ringing.
The doctor then realised how he was cheated by the ‘so called’ foreigner and another mediator.Based on the complaint lodged by the doctor, the Patamata police registered a case. Investigation is on.
