Visakhapatnam: Andhra University students organised Youth Assembly with a theme of ‘Reforms in school education in Andhra Pradesh’. Inaugurating the event, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the politics have become a part of the daily life and the youth should also actively participate and observe the ongoing developments in politics.

The government, opposition party and the Speaker of the Assembly would take several key decisions in the Assembly and those decisions would impact the people of the society. The students’ community should have knowledge and awareness about the decisions and they should also actively participate in the debates and discussions on the ongoing topics, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.

The Minister called upon the students to prepare a document about the discussion in the Youth Assembly and send to the government. He also called upon the students to provide suggestions and opinions to take up reforms in the education sector. The Minister disclosed that plans have been made to make Andhra Pradesh as a knowledge state at an estimated cost of Rs 4,850 crore. The Minister announced that DSC notification for recruitment of teachers would be issued soon.

Addressing the students, Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu said that the organisers should prepare a detailed note on the proceedings and outcome of the discussions in the Youth Assembly.
