The RARS is attached to the ANGRAU. The V-C visited the RARS here on Monday and reviewed its research activities.

Speaking to the media, Damodaram said that he has instructed the scientists to take up research on various dry land crops in Rayalaseema region so that farmers can be benefitted. He stated that scientists at Perumallapalli research station are doing research to produce better yielding varieties in sugarcane.

Farmers in Rayalaseema region are raising groundnut crop in more acres, he said and added that Chittoor district is suitable for mango cultivation. “We will construct classrooms for running agri business management course and hostel building for students in the SV Agricultural College,” the V-C said. Director Prof NV Naidu, Associate Director Prof TMC Naidu, PRO Prof Ramakrishna Rao and extension coordinator Mohan were present.
