Vijayawada: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Andhra Pradesh Telecom Circle has decided to upgrade its services to the customers by installing more 4G and 3G towers in 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs.168 crore, said K Damodara Rao, Chief General Manager, AP Telecom circle. Addressing a media conference at the BSNL main office on Eluru road on Monday, he said the Circle will improve the reach of data customers from 55 percent to 85 percent and also focusing on improving data quality and existing network.

He said the AP Circle will provide 1.42 lakh connections with New Generation Technology (NGT) in addition to the existing 1.21 lakh connections in the state. He informed that the latest technology includes video calling, reliable broadband and voice calls data and reliable transmission even for long distance landline connection.

Referring to Wi-Fi services, the CGM said the BSNL has 265 Wi-Fi hotspots in the state in 98 different locations to improve data availability to the users with high speed network. He further said International Wi-Fi services were introduced in BSNL to have access to Unlimited High Speed data through Wi-Fi hotspots across the globe very soon, he added.

He announced the BSNL is also launching multimedia video conferencing facility and Fixed Mobile convergence and it received the Best Wi-Fi Services Provider award and Leader of the Year Award in the ‘My India Wi-Fi India summit, he added.
Giving details of customers’ growth, he said about one lakh mobile customers and about 8000 landline and broadband customers are added in the state every month.
