Anantapur: Journalists Association of Andhra Pradesh (JAAP) president Uppala Lakshman has revealed that a meeting with all representatives of recognised journalists’ unions will be called for at Vijayawada in a week's time to explore modalities of constructing 3 bedroom houses for all accredited journalists.

Talking to The Hans India in connection with his participation in a JAAP meeting here, Lakshman said that the project announced by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was primarily announced in Nandyal recently for only capital journalists particularly the Secretariat reporters.

However, the JAAP had taken upon itself to seek clarifications on the Chief Minister's announcement as well as to convince the later that it was unfair to confined the project to merely a section of journalists as his public announcement having no strings attached had ignited hopes among all the journalist community.

The government will now take a wholistic approach of the housing requirement of journalists in the state. A committee would study on how many journalists have housing sites but built no houses and also on journalists who don’t have house sites.
