Union General Secretary G Sandhya Rani says nearly 5000 second ANMs are working in the State on outsourcing basis since 2007 without any benefits from the government

These health workers are working in sub-centres across the state with a salary of Rs.12,650 and demanding the Government to regularise their services and enhance salary as per the G.O.151.

Addressing the health workers, the State Andhra Pradesh Government Contract Second ANMs Union (APCSANMU) president A Madhavi said the health workers are working in deplorable conditions with very meagre salary and without any benefits. She has demanded the Government to sanction 35 casual leaves every year and pay ex-gratia to the kin of the workers, who died on duty and also extend insurance facility.

She said the Supreme Court has issued a directive - equal pay for equal work- but the state government is not implementing it. Union General Secretary G Sandhya Rani said nearly 5000 second ANMs are working in the state on outsourcing basis from 2007 onwards without any benefits from the Government. She has demanded the government to regularise the contract and outsourcing workers as per the assurance given by the TDP in its manifesto.

She has demanded the government to reduce the work load on the health workers. APCANMs Union honorary president A V Nageswara Rao, CITU State General Secretary M A Gafoor, Teachers JACTO chairman Babureddy and leaders of various unions spoke on the occasion.
