5,500 cops for Dasara bandobast
About 5,500 police personnel have been deputed for looking after bandobust during Dasara festivities commencing from September 21 to 30. While 1,800 police personnel were picked up from Vijayawada police commissionerate, another 2,700 cops were selected from other districts.

Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang different suggestions to the police personnel gathered at AR police grounds here on Tuesday. As devotees of Goddess Durga come to the city with devotion, the police should treat them friendly and help them have hasslefree darshan, he said.
They should behave politely and guide them properly until they return to their native places after darshan of the goddess. Especially, the police should take special care of women, children and elderly persons. It is an opportunity to the police to earn good name and fame from their services during the festival period, he added.
