The mutt organisers have been engaging staff on contract basis. According to police sources, mutt managers are not following the security rules laid down by TTD while hiring staff. More than 50 per cent of the private mutts in Tirumala are not having proper security. Only few big mutts like Pushpagiri, Aryavysya and Pedda Jeeyar are having CCTV surveillance and other security aspects as per TTD norms.
It is learnt that managers did not collect the personal details of the staff, who were working in mutts, for the last few years. Recently, a high-level security meeting with police officials was held presided over by Tirumala ASP. After the meeting, SHOs of various police stations have asked managers to submit details of staff working in their mutts like Aadhaar cards and mobile numbers. Also, blue print of mutt buildings and other information for providing security to mutts. Organisers were also asked to tighten the security to mutts.
The police officials instructed the managers to inform any suspicious activities of the employees to respective police stations. Speaking to The Hans India, Tirumala II-Town CI Venkat Ravi said that policemen are in the process of gathering personal details of employees working in the mutts. He warned to act against mutt managers if they found any lapses on their part about security.
