Visakhapatnam: BJP National General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao said that there was a lot of scope to expand the party in Andhra Pradesh particularly in south India.

He said that positive wave is being spread across all the south Indian states and the party can contest on its own in the 2019 general elections.

Addressing media here on Thursday, MuralidharRao said that the BJP was not depending on any political party to expand and it has more scope to strengthen its party base as it has strong cadre from the village level.

The party would adopt the strategies being used in the various states in north India, to emerge as strong force in south India, he added.

Talking about the weakness of other parties, he said that it was the biggest strength for the BJP. Now, the party was concentrating on the cadre building right from the village level in all the south Indian states, he added. However, MuralidharRao said that the party never lose any alliance including the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.

Talking about the Congress party vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to the USA and his comments on the Prime Minister, he said that Rahul Gandhi was trying to imitate Modi’s style, but he was yet to learn more lessons from Modi. BJP city president Narendra, MP K Haribabu and MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju were also present.
