National highway between Vij, Guntur to turn into a political hub
The national highway stretch between Vijayawada-Guntur cities is going to become a political hub and VIP zone on par with capital city Amaravati. The plans for State TDP office, YSR Congress party office, Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s residence and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been finalised along with other new infrastructure projects in the stretch.
Vijayawada: The national highway stretch between Vijayawada-Guntur cities is going to become a political hub and VIP zone on par with capital city Amaravati. The plans for State TDP office, YSR Congress party office, Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s residence and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been finalised along with other new infrastructure projects in the stretch.

Already the TDP has decided to construct a new State party office at Atmakuru village limits near Mangalagiri in Guntur district. The State cabinet has cleared land allocation recently on receipt of an application filed by the TDP. As many as two acres of land has been earmarked for this purpose.
Presently, the TDP has been conducting its State party affairs from its Guntur office on a temporary basis. After completion of the construction of new building, the office set up totally would be shifted to the new location, said the Telugu Desam sources.
Besides, the YSR Congress is also getting ready to set up their base in new capital Amaravati shortly. The party leadership has been facing criticism from various corners especially the ruling TDP which has been highlighting that the Opposition leader’s residence is located in Hyderabad while the Chief Minister and TDP national president is residing in Undavalli in Guntur district.
The TDP always mentions how the Chief Minister faced hardships staying in a bus before the construction of office and residence for him. In this backdrop, the YSR Congress leadership has decided to construct office and residence for YS Jaganmohan Reddy near the capital.
The party members of YSR Congress came forwarded to donate three acres land for party office at Namburu in Guntur district which is not that far from the proposed TDP State office. The party has also formally accepted the location. On the other hand, plans have also been finalised to construct a house for YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Tadepalli-Kunchanapalli limits.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has also plans to construct a new office for the State party. Previously, BJP MP Gokaraju Gangaraju proposed a site at Seetanagaram village in Guntur district but now the leadership is searching for an alternative site, nearer to other political party offices.
