The 10-day Devi Sarannavaratri celebrations will commence from Thursday at the renowned Siva pilgrimage centre here. As part of the celebrations, Goddess Bhramaramba will be decorated specially. The Goddess sports different attires during the celebrations.

Srisailam: The 10-day Devi Sarannavaratri celebrations will commence from Thursday at the renowned Siva pilgrimage centre here. As part of the celebrations, Goddess Bhramaramba will be decorated specially. The Goddess sports different attires during the celebrations.

Special pujas are marked for the occasion. Satachandi and Rudra yagam are scheduled for the occasion. The processional deities will be taken around the pilgrimage centre mounting different vehicles.

Beginning 8 am on Thursday, rituals like entering the yagasala, Sivasankalpam, Ganapati puja, Vastupuja, andapaaradhana, Ganesh puja, Rudra kalasa sthapana, kumkumarchana are scheduled. On Thursday, the deities will be paraded mounting them on Bhrungivahanam as part of the Bhrungi Vahana Seva.

At the Bhramari Kala Mandir near the temple pond, vocal recital by R Gita and Kuchipudi dance performance by Madhurima of Hyderabad have been scheduled towards the evening.

As part of gramotsavam, nadaswaram, kolatam, Jhanj Pathak, Tappeta Chindulu and other art forms will be presented. Noted scholar Dr Sivalenka Prakasa Rao of Kakinada will deliver a discourse on Devi Bhagavatam during the celebrations.
