Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the State government introduced free sand supply policy for the benefit of people and praised the officials for bringing transparency in sand supply using real time governance.

Addressing the Collectors’ conference in Vijayawada on Wednesday, he said the officials are using technology to videograph the vehicles carrying sand from sand reaches along with their registration numbers and registering the names of beneficiaries.
He said the new system would help to curb sand smuggling. Naidu warned that cases would be booked under the PD Act on those who resort to sand smuggling. He said 60 per cent satisfaction level of people achieved in sand policy in both Krishna and Guntur districts.
Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar directed officials to document the sand supply system implemented through real time governance.
