the CVSO advised them to follow regulations on the ghat roads for ensuring safe journey to devotees and their families coming for Brahmotsavams. He said the private operators should spread awareness about transport of banned items to devotees and should follow traffic rules strictly. Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty cautioned that violators would have to face seizure of vehicles and also criminal cases.

CCTV cameras have been installed all over Tirumala and the movements of taxis would be monitored, he stated. TTD Additional CVSO Sivakumar Reddy asked the taxi operators to maintain their vehicles in good condition and avoid accidents on the ghat roads during Brahmotsavams. They should park vehicles only at places earmarked for them.

TTD Transport wing general manager Sesha Reddy said taxi drivers were the first persons to meet devotees at railway station and bus stands and hence they should behave properly with them. TTD Traffic DSP Malleswar Reddy said the taxi drivers had experience in ghat road driving and should take devotees safely up and down.

He stated that they should not charge more than Rs 30 for kids and Rs 60 for elders. Earlier, MVI Suresh Naidu explained the precautions to be taken by the drivers during ghat road driving. SPF DSP Shankar Rao, AVSO Ganga Raju and about 500 taxi operators have participated in the meeting.
