Guntur: A pack of dogs attacked a three and half- years -old boy and mauled him to death at Adavitakkellapadu village,in Guntur city on Thursday.

According to police, the deceased Prem Kumar was playing near Rajiv Gruhakalpa Housing Complex at the village. Suddenly a pack of dogs attackedand bit him severely. The by passers noticed and went to his rescue. By thetime, the boy was badly bitten and was profusely bleeding. While beingshifted to the government general hospital, he died. The boy’s parents were out on work when the dogs attacked him.

  • Prem Kumar had come out of his house without informing anybody

Before leaving for their farm work, the boy’s mother Malleswari and his father Jesu had asked neighbours to take care of Prem Kumar. When the boy came out without informing anybody, the dogs suddenlyattacked and bit him severely. The locals informed the matter to the child’s parents over phone.

GGH superintendent Dr.Raju Naidu said " Prem Kumar was brought dead. Dogs severely bit the boy on his neck and mouth.He was brought dead to theGGH.We will perform post-mortem."

Meanwhile, as soon as information was received, GMC commissioner Ch Anuradha, Guntur RDO Srinivasa Rao, DSP Saritha rushed to the spot and inquired about the incident.

Prem Kumar's mother Malleswari said " I had complained to the GMC officials on the stray dogs recently. I never felt the dogs will kill my son.While,I was working, neighbours informed about the incident.I was shocked my son was killed by the dogs. I am most unfortunate, I lost my son.

Earlier also dogs had severely bitten several persons” she said. Guntur Municipal Commissioner Challa Anuradha said “I will order an inquiry into the incident. After getting inquiry report, I will take further action . As per rules, we are sterilising the dogs. So far we have sterilised the 2,235 dogs in the city. Two dogs squads are moving in the city and catching the dogs. We have constructed a hospital for sterilising the dogs” she informed.
