Hyderabad: Issuing a warning to the State, the Met department bulletin said on Friday that heavy rain ranging from 12 to 20 cm is very likely to occur at isolated places in all Rayalaseema districts on September 24 and in both regions on September 25 and 26.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from September 23 to 26. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.

The bulletin attributed the heavy rainfall to the well marked low pressure area over the northern parts of central Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood and the persisting associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level.

It said an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the south-east Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood. The trough from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema is also persisting.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday, the southwest monsoon has been weak over both the coastal and Rayalaseema districts. Isolated rain occurred in the two regions, with Kaikalur (Krishna district) and Tirupati Airport (Chittoor) recording two cm of rainfall each. There was one cm of rain each in Tada, Parvathipuram, Kurupam, Narsipatnam, Srikalahasti, Pakala and Thottambedu.
