Eluru: Dr Parakala Prabhakar, Advisor to Government (Communications) has said that though the state government was in financial deficit after the bifurcation of the state, it has achieved 11.72 percent growth rate in the first quarter.

Parakala came to Eluru on Tuesday evening to participate in the KVS Trust programme held in YMHA Hall in the night. On this occasion, speaking to media persons at ZP Guest house, Parakala Prabhakar said the state government has given highest priority to the agriculture sector and developing the irrigation sector.

He said that the Chief Minister is striving hard to complete 28 projects in the state. He stated that the Polavaram project will also be completed in time speedily like in the case of Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme. The state government has taken up the linkage of rivers in the state to provide water security to the people.

Even there is scarcity of rainfall in the state, the Chief Minister is trying to develop the agriculture sector and decided to place the state among the first three states by 2022.

He regretted that Andhra Pradesh has faced severe water scarcity comparing to other states. Even then, the government has given priority to the agriculture sector and encouraging the farmers for their financial growth. Eluru RDO G Chakradhar Rao and others participated in the media conference.
