Eluru: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham has given an ultimatum to TDP Government that if the government fails to implement Reservations forKapus as promised in the election manifesto by December 6, the Kapu community will decide their future course of action.

Mudragada reached West Godavari from Kirlampudi on Monday morning and conducted a friendly rally in Sidhantham, Penugonda, Peravali, Maruteru villages and Achantamandal villages. He addressed the media and the Kapu people in all these places and reached Penumadam village in Poduru Mandal in the afternoon.

Addressing the meeting, Mudragada said that the Kapu community is asking the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to implement the assurance during his election campaign of reservations to Kapus. He said that the Constitutional architect Dr BR Ambedkar has done good to Kapu people and added that Ambedkar has discussed the Kapu people’s financial position at the Round Table meeting held in London.

He said that on Dr BR Ambedkar’s death anniversary, December 6, the Kapu community will decide its future course of action on the reservations issue, if the government did not respond in time. He said that the Kapu people are asking to include them in BC list without disturbing the BCs reservation. He pointed out that the Kapus are demanding to increase the reservation quota and provide them with the reservation.

Mudragada also pointed out that Late CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy has provided 4 percent reservations to Muslim minorities by including them in BC-E category. Like, the Kapus are demanding to provide reservation by including them in BC-F.
The Kapu leader said that the TDP Government even after three years has not implemented its promise of reservation.

“We demanded the Government only to fulfil the promise made in the election campaign. However, it has used the oppression by using police force. The police have abused and beaten up the Kapus. Even when the British rule has ended, the remains of the rule are still prevailing in the state.

The government is using the police as slaves. He said that Ambedkar’s saying “the ethnicity will end if struggle stopped”.
