MP-MLA war intensifies; MPTC, ZPTC members quit enmasse
The war against former Minister Peethala Sujatha, who is the MLA of Chintalapudi (SC) constituency, has now reached its peak on Monday evening. The MPTCs and ZPTC members burst out against the former Minister Sujatha and submitted their resignations in ZP office on Monday evening.
Eluru: The war against former Minister Peethala Sujatha, who is the MLA of Chintalapudi (SC) constituency, has now reached its peak on Monday evening. The MPTCs and ZPTC members burst out against the former Minister Sujatha and submitted their resignations in ZP office on Monday evening.
It may be recalled that over the last three years, there were differences between Eluru MP MagantiVenkateswara Rao (Babu) and former Minister and Chintalapudi MLA Peethala Sujatha in the Chintalapudi constituency.
Highlights:
- Over the last three years, there were differences between Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) and former Minister and Chintalapudi MLA Peethala Sujatha in the Chintalapudi constituency
- In its wake, about 17 MPTCs and two ZPTCs led by senior leader Jaggavarapu Mutha Reddy and Koneru Subba Rao submitted their resignations accusing the MLA of ‘humiliating’ them
The authoritarian struggle between them has divided the party into two in the constituency. Several times, the former minister has openly opposed the MP by stating that he is working against her and conducting programmes without her knowledge. Her group of leaders and workers also alleged that due to the MP’s attitude, MLA has suffered a lot and the party workers also.
However, the MP’s group came out openly with a meeting two months back headed by senior leader JaggavarapuMutha Reddy in Chintalapudi.
The TDP district committee president and Rajya Sabha Member Thota Sitaramalakshmi told the group that she will settle the problems in the constituency. With this, the Muthareddy group cancelled the meeting against the MLA. The main problem is the appointment of Chairman to Agriculture Marketing Committee of Chintalapudi. This was kept pending over the last few years.
The MP had proposed the name of KoneruSubba Rao, a hardcore worker from Kamavarapukota to the Chairman’s post without the knowledge of Sujatha.
She had objected to this proposal at the district Coordination meeting of the party two months back and warned the MP not to intervene in her constituency. However, MP claimed that Chintalapudi is one of the segments in his parliamentary constituency and he proposed the name as KoneruSubba Rao is a committed worker of the party from its inception.
In the wake of these differences, about 17 MPTCs and two ZPTCs led by Senior Leader JaggavarapuMutha Reddy and KoneruSubba Rao reached Eluru from Chintalapudi this evening and went to ZillaParishad office.
As the Chief Executive officer of the ZP was not available on his seat, the 17 MPTC members and two ZPTC members Ganta Sudheer Babu (Kamavarapukota_ and Talluri Radha Rani (Chintalapudi) submitted their resignations to Senior Assistant P Vasu who was present in the office.
In their resignations, they mentioned that over the last three years, the MLA Peethala Sujatha has neglected the party workers who are in the party since its inception. During last three years, the workers have faced humiliation from the MLA and patiently waited with a hope of change in the attitude of the MLA. However, the MLA did not respect the seniors in the party and did not even taken their suggestions into consideration.
Due to the MLA’s attitude, the party was badly damaged in the constituency and stated that they were submitting their resignations from the posts of MPTC and ZPTC. Later the leaders told media at ZP Guest house that they will continue in the party and work for the party.
