Police recover Rupees 19 Lakhs jewellery from thief

Rural police arrested Kancharla Mohanarao, 37, alias Mohan, a habitual thief, at Ponnur Shoroff Bazaar on Monday. Addressing media, Superintendent of Police(Rural) Ch V Appala Naidu said the police have recovered gold worth Rs 19 lakh from him.
Guntur: Rural police arrested Kancharla Mohanarao, 37, alias Mohan, a habitual thief, at Ponnur Shoroff Bazaar on Monday.Addressing media, Superintendent of Police(Rural) Ch V Appala Naidu said the police have recovered gold worth Rs 19 lakh from him.
He said that Mohanrao was involved in 12 cases in the district and convicted also.The modus operandi of Mohanrao is he uses a long stick to grab clothes and remove valuables from them, breaking locked doors using iron rods, the SP said.
Though he belonged to Kasukarru of Ponnur mandal, Mohanrao settled in Visakhapatnam and 12 cases were pending against him at various police stations. The SP announced reward for police team who nabbed the culprit.
