Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu along with his wife would present Silk robes (PattuVastralu) to the Goddess about 9 a.m. on the day of Moola Nakshatram, which is considered very auspicious. The city police along with the CM personal security inspected the ghat road and temple premises on Tuesday to mark the visit of the Chief Minister.

The temple authorities will cancel the VIP Darshans on Wednesday as nearly two lakh devotees are likely to attend the temple for the Darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga on the auspicious Day. Nearly 3000 police and more than 1000 volunteers will be on duty on Wednesday.

District collector B Lakshmikantham, Temple executive officer A Surya Kumari and officials of revenue, endowment and trust Board members are inspecting the temple premises regularly and giving suggestions for the smooth conduct of 10-day annual Dasara celebrations.

All five queue lines will be opened for the common people (free Darshan) and VIP visits are cancelled on September 27, said the district collector B Lakshmikantham. He conducted a review meeting with the officials of police, revenue, endowment and other departments and instructed the officials to supervise the arrangements and arrange adequate drinking water packets, butter milk packets to the devotees, who pass through the queue lines.

Former Chief Minister K Rosaiah, HRD Minister Ganga Srinivasa Rao and some others VIPs visited the temple on Tuesday and offered special prayers. Temple officials accorded a warm welcome as per the tradition to the minister and former Chief Minister.
